Melody had a huge passion for music since she was little. She parents had decided to name her after her love for music. They couldn't afford to take her to school for her education. So, what they decided to do was to let her join the choir. That meant that Melody attended one class during the day and after she would go home and help with the chores. One day at school during choir practice, Melody and the rest were singing and there was this visitor that had come to visit the school. He heard Melody sing and felt astounded by her voice...
"Wow, just like the birds singing in the morning, whose voice is that?" Mr. Cortez, the visitor asked. "Yes, she is called Melody". Replied the principal. "I want to meet her, how can I get to see her?" Mr. Cortez asked. "Alright, I'm going to just make sure that we won't be interrupting their session since she only attends the music class". Replied the principal. "Okay, how come she is not a full time student?" Asked Mr. Cortez. "Her parents cannot afford to pay her fees". Replied the principal. "How sad, what if I'm help them pay her tuition, do you think that they would be okay with it?" Mr. Cortez asked. "Okay, alright I think they will accept and also I think that they are going to be super, super happy". Replied the principal. Soon the principal let Mr. Cortez talk to Melody. "Hello class, this is our visitor, Mr. Cortez, wants to thank you all for singing and also say something else". Everyone clapped and welcomed Mr. Cortez. "Thanks, Thanks everyone, you sing very well". All the students clapped again. "Who was the lead singer of the song, you just finished singing?" Asked Mr. Cortez. "Melody". Everyone shouted. Melody slowly raised up her hand. Soon, Mr. Cortez, Melody and the principal went outside the class. Melody's heart was in her mouth for she was nervous. After Mr. Cortez had told everything to Melody, she started crying, tears of joy for she couldn't believe it. It was time to go home. When Melody reached home, she told her Mom about what had happened at school. At first, her mom didn't believe her at all before she received a call from the principal.
"Hello Allie, how are you?" Asked the principal. "I'm good, thanks. How are you?" Replied Allie, Melody's Mom. "Your daughter has been given a scholarship so that means that she will be able to become a fulltime student. Said the principal. At first, Melody's mother didn't say anything at all then she thanked the principal's visitor, Mr. Cortez while crying tears of joy. "My Melody, I love you very much"> Said Allie to her daughter. "I love you, more Mom". Replied Melody Everyone was very happy. "You are making me feel proud". Replied Allie Melody smiled. After Melody and her parents went to dine at their best restaurant which was close to their home. Soon, they headed back home. One year passed, Melody was performing very well in school. This made her parents extremely proud of her. "I cannot believe that we are almost graduating, Paula. Said Melody. Paula was Melody's friend, she had just joined the school. "Yes, me too". Replied Paula. Soon the day was here. It was Graduation Day. Melody stood up to give a speech. "If I were asked to choose something that was good..." Melody spoke. Her speech was an hour, long. After, everybody including her parents clapped for her. Allie cried tears of joy. Melody still loved her music so she had decided to enroll in college and expand her knowledge on music.
Two months later, Melody got ready to go to college since the time had come. "Remain humble, Melody and also remember that good things come to those who wait". Said her dad. "Yes dad, I'll always keep that in mind, you don't have to worry". Replied Melody. Her mom had advised her too and off they drove Melody to school. They arrived at the school. Soon, Melody and her parents departed. Melody felt like everything was different. She made few new friends. Her personality changed too but in a good way. Melody expressed herself more, she became more confident and she had now adjusted to the new school surroundings. She had also joined the Singing Society. During the evenings, the students in the Singing Society would assemble in the Main Hall and do some vocal training before they sing. The school administration would partner with the Singing Society and organize concerts. They were held towards the end of the semester. That meant that whoever wanted to perform or sing would was free to register with the school society leader. Of course, Melody had registered. "I have no idea what I'm going to sing on the day of the concert". Melody said to her friend. "No, don't worry I think we have a perfect song". Replied Paula "You do?" asked Melody. "Yes" replied Paula "This is a song that I came up with childhood". Added Paula She handed her song to Melody and the chorus went, "Deeply I sing, deeply I sing, deeply I think about everything around me, sometimes I smile, sometimes I laugh". The singing continued until the song was completed. "Wonderful" said Melody with a delightful cheer. "I'm glad to have you as my friend friend, you are very smart". Melody added. "I knew that you would like it". Replied Paula One week passed and it was entertainment day. The day that the entire school was waiting on had finally come. Paula was also going to sing with her friend. Melody was the fifth in line to perform that day. "I'm nervous" Said Melody. "You know what, everything is going to turn out fine, try to take deep breaths" Paula said "Thanks, Paula, I'm beginning to feel at ease" Melody said. Soon, it was Melody's turn. No sooner had the audience stopped clapping than Melody started sing. Truth be told, all the performers did a great job. The whole concert was beautiful. After Melody finished singing, everyone clapped as they all stood up. "I'm so glad that we made it, we made it, we made it". Melody said happily. "Yes" Replied Paula excitedly. They all celebrated after the concert was finished. The next day at the school, everyone was talking about Melody and Paula's performances. "Hey Melody, I liked your performance yesterday". Said Gregory, one of the students in the classroom. "Thanks". Replied Paula suddenly.
Melody had this confused expression on her face. "Now if you may excuse us". replied Paula after grabbing Melody's hand and taken her away. Gregory was confused too. "Alright, I'll see you". He replied. Melody asked Paula why she had done that but she didn't reply because something really felt off. Melody was felt anxious. Melody kept on asking her why but it was all in vain. One day, after classes. Melody was determined to find out the reason why Paula warned her of Gregory previously so she decided to go and ask Lila, her other friend who might know something. "Hey, Lila" Sia Melody "Hey, girl" Replied Lila "For the past few weeks, I've been concerned about why Paula seems to detest Gregory". Melody said "It's complicated". Lila Replied "Paula and Gregory used to be close way back even before you had joined this college" Lila said. " It was a beautiful sunset when Gregory had gone to hike then he found this woman who had slid and hit her elbow on a rock". Lila continued "Since she was bleeding, Gregory decided to tear his shirt and wrap it around her elbow so the bleeding could stop" Lila added "Gregory had also called the police, unfortunately the woman decided to accuse him of pushing her, she was very bad and also ungrateful". Lila continued "Thankfully, there were no charges that were pressed but the story was all over the town" Lila added. After some days, Paula learnt about what had happened so she went to visit Gregory and also to know the details of the whole incident. Gregory tried to explain what had happened that day but Paula wouldn't understand. She couldn't believe him. From that day, she started viewing Gregory as a very bad and mean person that had to be avoided. She also started acting strangely towards Gregory. She had misunderstood the whole situation.
Melody had now understood the reason why Paula acts strangely towards Gregory. "Thanks by the way for letting me know and sparing some of your time." Melody said "Sure, Melody," Lila replied. "I'm going to talk to Paula". Melody said. "Alright then, I hope everything goes well and they go back to being the good friends that they were". Lila replied. "I hope so too". Melody said. Soon Melody left. The next day in class, Melody talked to Paula before the first lecture. Melody had told Paula that she now knew that reason why she detested Gregory and that she had spoken with Lila. Paula didn't even seem to be bothered at all for she considered everything was now in the past. That afternoon during the lunch break, Gregory wanted to join Melody at her table. "Hello" Gregory said "Hello" Melody replied. Paula came with her food. When she saw Gregory, Paula almost went the other way but she came and sat down. there was an awkward silence. Everyone was focused on their food. Soon, it was time to return to class. This time, Melody didn't mention anything to Paula about her behavior towards Gregory. Few days had passed. The class was getting ready for a Math exam. In the classroom, the Professor had instructed Gregory to sit wit Paula. She was furious. Paula stopped writing and put her pen down after an hour. "Hey Paula, what's the matter"? Gregory asked slowly. He had noticed that was not writing. "I'm stuck, I had not gone through all my formulas". Paula replied worriedly. "Alright, I'm going to help you". Gregory replied. At First, Paula was astounded, she couldn't believe Gregory would help her during the exam. Soon, everyone completed their exam. Paula, Gregory and Melody had completed too. Paula was happy. "Thank you very much for helping me during the Math exam." Paula said happily "No problem, that's okay". Replied Gregory. Paula also went ahead to apologize to Gregory for how she used to mistreat him previously. Gregory forgave her. Paula also expressed herself about how bad she felt because despite her rude behavior towards Gregory, he was still kind to her. "You can choose to forget that, as far as I'm concerned we remain friends". Gregory replied. "I'm very glad". Paula replied happily. Later, Paula told Melody everything. She couldn't believe it at first but then she did after. She was extremely overjoyed since she wanted Paula to reunite and stay friends with Gregory. Two months later, Christmas was approaching and everyone was getting ready to go back home for Christmas Break. During the last week on campus before break, there was another school concert. Melody sang her first song that she had written on her own and she was awarded since she became number one. Paula and Gregory were there too and were vey happy. They cheered on for Melody. Finally, everyone went home for the holidays. Paula and Gregory became best friends. Melody later became musician, recorded and released her first song which was called "Inner Warrior". She sang with Mateo who used to be in the Singing Society choir too. Everyone like their song and they won plenty of awards.
