Cressida was a student who lived with her family in the city. She had a sister named Bethany, whom she loved, dearly. Cressida, also loved to draw. She always dreamt of starting her own business of selling her drawings but didn't have enough money. She was talented. She used to draw her family and she treasured their pictures, a lot. Among all her drawings, her family's pictures were her favorite. One day she decided to make a drawing of her sister. Cressida wasn't able to complete it at home so she took it to school. At school, she sat next to Luke. They never spoke since they were all reserved. Cressida and Bethany went to the same college. Cressida would help her sister with homework in the library or sometimes at home. Bethany played volleyball she was on the school team. One day during her practice, she broke her arm. Her coach contacted her parents Mr. and Mrs. Barnes having taken her to the school, nurse. They both came right away.
"Betha dear, how are you, feeling" Asked Mrs. Barnes "My arm hurts but I will be alright, mom". Replied Bethany "We are going to stay here, please let us know if you need anything". Said Mr. Barnes "Thanks a lot but it won't be necessary since I will be able to come home with Cressida when she is done". Replied Bethany "Besides, I don't want you to miss work because of my arm". Added Bethany "Are you sure, dear?" Said Mrs. Barnes "Yes Mom, please don't worry, both of you, I will be alright, it's only my arm". Said Cressida "Okay Betha, my dear but please don't hesitate to call me or dad if you need, anything". Said Mrs. Barnes "Sure, Mom" Replied Bethany "Okay Betha, we both wish you a quick recovery and hope to see you at home with your sister" Said Mr. Barnes After a short while, both Mr. and Mrs. Barnes left the hospital having thanked the school nurse. Soon, Bethany's friends came to see her at the sick bay. Later, it was time to go home, Cressida rushed to see how Bethany was doing and apologized to her sister for not coming to see her immediately because of the assignments she had to complete. "Don't even worry about it, Cressida, just know that my arm is going to get better and soon, I'll be back at the field to play, volleyball with my team, again". Said Bethany "Well, I'm really glad to hear, that". Cressida smiled at her sister while helping her get up.
One week later, Bethany's arm had fully recovered and she was back on the field with her volleyball, team. Mr. and Mrs. Barnes were really happy and so was Cressida. Bethany on would play volleyball after her classes while Cressida would draw. at home, Cressida was adding more color her sister's recent drawing to make it look beautiful, she really loved the drawing. She had also named it "Masterpiece". Cressida wasn't able to finish coloring Bethany's drawing at home so she decided to take it with her to class the next day and complete it. As lunch break approached, Luke who sat next to Bethany dropped his books accidentally on the ground but didn't notice so Greg another classmate picked them up and put them on Cressida's desk, instead. Cressida had also left a file on her desk and that file had her sister's drawing that she was working on. Luke had to leave early since his family was leaving for another country the following day so he had arrived earlier from the lunch break, he saw and picked and packed all his books that were on Cressida's desk in his bag. Luke had also packed Cressida's file that had her sister's drawing by mistake. Soon, he met his family and they went to the airport, directly since everyone had already packed their bags. At the school campus, Cressida and everyone returned from their lunch break. Cressida noticed that her file was missing. She started searching for it and asking everyone if the class if they ad seen it. "I was one of the last people to leave and I picked Luke's books that were on the ground". Said Greg He told Cressida where he had put hem and pointed on Cressida's desk. "It seems that Luke had taken the with my file, it had my favorite drawing of Bethany, I must find Luke, I want my drawing". Said Cressida Greg apologized for having put the books on the wrong desk but Cressida assured him that it wasn't his fault. At home, Cressida told Bethany and her parents that she wanted to get her drawing back and that she was willing to do anything even if it meant crossing, boarders. Everyone at home supported her and they also offered their assistance.
At school, Bethany helped her sister to find out exactly the country Luke had moved to by asking his friends since they were in her class. After 2 weeks, both Bethany and Cressida were able to find out the country. It took a long time because Luke had told his friends not to tell anyone but they ended up telling Bethany and her sister. Mr. and Mrs. Barnes had also saved up some money in order for their daughter to travel and get her drawing, back. Bethany and Cressida completed the semester first then decided to travel during the summer school, break. They had arrived safely. Mr. and Mrs. Barnes would also call and check on their daughters. They were happy that Bethany and Cressida had arrive, safely but also worried at the same time since they were not there with them and that anything could happen. Bethany and Cressida started searching for Luke and his family. They would ask people if they have ever heard of their names or even seen them but everyone would tell the no. Meanwhile Luke had kept the file that had Bethany's drawing having noticed that it wasn't his and that he had packed it that day by accident. He really hoped to return the drawing to Cressida, one day. After days of countless number of searches, Luke decided to go with the drawing to one of the biggest art exhibitions in the town, the event was worldwide and he also hoped that Cressida and Bethany would watch it on television and know where the drawing is and get it back, somehow.
Bethany and Cressida were also going to the exhibition. The even began and everyone was very excited to see the beautiful art pieces. " This is very incredible, Cress, I'm so glad that we came." Said Bethany "Me too, Betha, it's really adorable" Replied Cressida as she admired the art, pieces. As they kept looking, Bethany and Cressida saw the drawing that they were looking for all their lives, finally. It was among the drawing of the exhibitions. most of the people kept asking about the artist, the drawing had really impressed, them. Bethany and Cressida were speechless, they were so amazed. after a while, they met Luke. Cressida, Bethany and Luke were really happy. They spoke for a long time. Huge companies hired Cressida for her drawings. Cressida also signed large contracts and received deals at the exhibition. It was really an important moment for her and her time to shine. Luke's family, the Coves, became close friends with the Barnes. Cressida's passion for drawing had paid off and that' was what she always dreamt, of thanks to Bethany's portrait.
